Rip It! Card Collector Critkin and the CritDex

Critkin are the creatures drawn on the cards in Rip It! Card Collector. The official Steam store describes 1,809 hand-drawn cards across 209 unique Critkin. This guide explains what that means for your binder, how the CritDex logs them and which questions the official material still leaves open.

What a Critkin is

A Critkin is a creature, while a card is one printed version of that creature. That is why the store gives two different numbers for the same collection. The 209 figure counts creatures, and the 1,809 figure counts collectible cards.

The game itself is a collecting simulator rather than a battle game. Critkin are not described as units you build a deck around. Their role is to be pulled, inspected, placed in the binder and logged as discovered.

Why one Critkin can appear on many cards

The store names card variants such as foil and metallic. The official demo trailer description also uses the rarity terms common, rare and mythic. Variant, rarity and creature identity are separate details, so one creature can sit behind several binder entries.

The official sources do not publish a formula that turns 209 creatures into 1,809 cards. This guide does not invent one. Treat the two totals as published figures for different units instead of multiplying them yourself.

How the CritDex logs your discoveries

The store says every Critkin you find is logged in your CritDex. The full-release preview pairs it with a stats screen for following collection progress. Together they track discoveries beyond simply flipping through binder pages.

The binder still matters for individual cards. The developer tells players to match a card’s number to the binder page, and a small red symbol marks a duplicate. The CritDex answers which creatures you have met, while the binder shows which exact cards you own.

Critkin in the demo versus the full game

The official demo FAQ lists 369 cards. That smaller pool is an introduction, not the full roster of 209 creatures. Footage of a completed demo binder therefore does not show every Critkin in the released game.

The developer confirmed that demo saves do not transfer to the full release. The reasons given include more cards, additional upgrades and the CritDex. Players coming from the demo start their Critkin log again.

Community promo Critkin

The developer ran an art competition, and nine selected designs became promo cards. The full-release preview refers to these community-created entries as part of the collection. They are collectible artwork, not redeem codes.

The official material does not explain exactly how each promo card is obtained. This guide does not guess a drop source or a code. Check the developer’s Steam announcements for any later details.

What is still unconfirmed

No verified English name list for all 209 Critkin was available when this page was written. The official sources also give no per-creature pull odds. Any site claiming a complete odds table should show where its numbers come from.

These facts were checked against the official store on October 31, 2026, the day after the full game launched. For the card totals and binder structure, see the card list guide. For rarity terms, see the rarest cards guide.
